Hot forging
The remodeling of the metal in a casting process (bar production) is normally followed by a remodeling of the billet. A very common procedure is
massive forming. BONS & EVERS has specialised in massive forming of brass by
forging. The forging of brass alloy is a highly specialised subject so that many languages have created their own denomination for it. In Germany you call it
"Warmpressen", in France "matricage", in Italy "stampaggio ottone", in Great Britain "stamping" and in the USA "forging".
BONS & EVERS forges by means of fully automatic forging lines with work-dependent as well as path-dependent moulding presses. Utilizing vertical and horizontal processes, BONS & EVERS forges traditional
rigid components but also
concave components. As an initial step, the annealed brass semi-finished products will be deformed in such a way as to come as close as possible to the desired final shape of the component part. With the valuable knowledge and expertise of BONS & EVERS, we have the ability to perfectly calculate the semi-finished products which consequently require very little finishing work.
After forging, the parts will be deburred at room temperature and pierced if necessary. Then, the scale layer will be removed.
